AWS Certified AI Practitioner

I’m stepping into the world of AI by starting with the AWS AI Practitioner certificate. Since I have begun working with AI and large language models (LLMs), this seems like a good starting point to understand best practices.

Understanding the tech stack is one thing; passing the exam is another. I spent around three weeks preparing for the exam. I’d like to share my experience.

Why do AI certification

  • Since you’re already familiar with the tech stack, getting certified is a good way to validate whether you’re following best practices.
  • While preparing for the exam, you’ll discover other services that you may not have used in your projects but still exist and could prove useful in the future.

How to prepare for the exam

About the exam

  • The exam duration is 100 minutes, but you can receive an additional 30 minutes by applying for accommodations if English is not your first language.
  • Before starting the exam, you need to sign in using your phone by scanning a QR code to open the portal, then upload your ID and a selfie.
  • You can flag questions to revisit them before finishing your exam.
  • There is also a notepad available, which I used to jot down small summary of questions, so I didn’t have to read the entire scenario again during review.
